“Project We Love”

I sent that out earlier this week to my daily inspiration friends’ list. It’s seemingly quite reflective of my life right now. The last four years have been the most challenging of my adult life, I’ve lost my two closest friends, and my mother and one of my sisters, who died within four months of each other.
This coupled with the veteran’s administration decision that I didn’t have service connected Post Traumatic Stress Disorder since the va had failed to provide me with any care for it, and cut my rating and my disability pay by 75%.
Losing seventy five percent of my retirement and most of my emotional support network almost all at once could’ve broken me, but I relied on same self care I’ve used since my mother took me to see ‘Disney On Parade’ when I was six. Inspired by the explosion of colors, imagery and ideas, I took the program to my room, four hours later my mother demanded I take my renditions of every character to show and tell, Sister Rebecca, made “‘Disney on parade’

I’ve always used creativity as my outlet, be it music, film, photography, writing or art, having lost so much so fast I turned to all I had left, a comic book universe I first thought of in 1984 and had been my main hobby since coming home to Pittsburgh in 2013.
The external validation of, The Asaniverse, my take on the superhero genre, has gotten, has embolden me and helped keep me going. The success of the “WELCOME TO THE EVOLUTION – Enter a New SuperHero Universe” Kickstarter Campaign by a new Writer, Artist and Characters, gaining 64% funding in days, while competing with over 260 other projects, many with name creators and recognizable characters, was encouraging but having;
“WELCOME TO THE EVOLUTION – Enter a New SuperHero Universe is now a Project We Love”
With over 7,500 live projects to choose from is both humbling and motivating.

I’m laid up with COVID as I write this, but despite the lack of energy I’m go to go at it now harder the ever.
